Tova Bar-Dayan established Sage HR Consulting Inc. as her passion for the human side of business remains strong after more than 15 years of advising senior and executive management on workplace matters, priding herself on her strategic partnering style and ability to connect with people of all professional levels.
Tova’s experience ranges from large manufacturers, to service organizations, to public healthcare, to a large Canadian public agency, during which time her Bachelor of Human Resources Management with Honours (York), Master of Industrial Relations (Queen’s), and broad expertise were put to good use while managing employee/labour relations issues at both public and private sector employers, including conducting mediations, collective agreement interpretation, workplace investigations, progressive disciplines, and terminations. Tova has also engaged the upcoming generation of HR professionals through her time educating 3rd and 4th year students at York University as a part-time course instructor.
Over the years, Tova has witnessed the detrimental effects of dated or absent policies, poor practices and improper handling of employee issues that directly resulted in the unnecessary consumption of valuable management time, as well as costly litigation. As a Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL), Tova believes that as a company invests in employees, it should likewise invest in itself by proactively implementing best practices and policies.
Though Tova enjoys working with companies of all types, she takes the most reward from providing assurance to private or family-owned businesses that may not have resources or experience to handle, or be proactive about, day-to-day or strategic human resources issues, where a modest investment can yield significant improvements and help to prevent costly problems.
